STRONG LAWRENCE ROOTS
I'm running for City Commission because I love Lawrence. It was a great place for me to grow up and it is a great place to live, work, and raise a family today
While Lawrence has fared better than many communities, we have not been immune to the recent downturn in the national economy. As the economy slowly begins to recover, I believe we have a fantastic opportunity to ensure that Lawrence emerges stronger than ever. For this to happen, our elected officials will have to remain focused on adding jobs and growing and diversifying our tax base.
For the last three years, I have served on the Lawrence Douglas County Planning Commission, a recommending body to the City Commission. I would now like be a part of getting things done, approving projects and then actually seeing them through to their implementation. Proactive planning to attract new business, policies that support the growth of our existing businesses, and a "can do" attitude by city leaders will ensure that Lawrence can provide its citizens with first class amenities, first class schools, and first class city services for generations to come.
